The Safest Candles to Burn in Your Home

Scroll down to content

This one was a super upsetting topic for me to read! I am a LOVER of candles and always have them burning. Fall comes and I am burning up that pumpkin spice candle. Christmas comes and I am burning up those pine and cinnamon candles. Spring is coming? You better believe that clean linen smell is burning.

So I was extremely disappointed to read what was in these candles and how toxic they are for my house. WHY are some even allowed on the market?!?

Long story short.

The majority of candles are toxic because they are made from paraffin wax. Fragrances are also usually listed as an ingredient in these popular candles. Did you know companies can label “fragrance” on the ingredients, but it can contain several chemicals under that name? They’re unhealthy for your environment and can truly create poor air quality in your home or workplace, which can result in other health issues.

So what IS safe to create a great smell in my home?

Well, of course you could do the holiday concoctions of cranberries and herbs with spices on the stove and all that jazz, but personally I don’t have time for that. So I found a solution.

Beeswax candles!

Why are they different?

  1. Naturally burn longer
  2. Negative ions enter the air (helps air quality)
  3. Cleaner than other ingredients
  4. Scents are usually from essential oils if they have a smell
  5. Naturally don’t drip

Fisher Road is currently my favorite!  Love that they are local and what they stand for.

My favorites from them are. . .

  1. Candy cane
  2. Tobacco Row
  3. Cinnamon Stick
  4. Coffee grind
  5. Pecan Praline

Go check them out and let me know what you think!
